The Governing Council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Yetunde Adebimpe Lanre-Iyanda as the Deputy Rector of the Polytechnic.
In a letter signed by the Chairman, Governing Council, Emeritus Prof. Kamaldeen Balogun, her appointment takes effect from Thursday, 2nd February 2023 for a single non-renewable term of four years.
With this development, Dr Lanre-Iyanda becomes the 8th and the 1st female Deputy Rector of the 44-year-old Institution.
She joined the services of Ogun state Polytechnic now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta in October 1993 as a Lecturer III.
Dr. (Mrs.) Yetunde Adebimpe Lanre-Iyanda, a native of Abeokuta North of Ogun State, was born on the 14th of May, 1964.
Her education started at L.E.A. Girls Primary School, Kaduna (1970 – 1976), Federal Government College, Kaduna (1976 – 1981) and later proceeded to the School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1981-1982).
She enrolled for her first degree at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1982 – 1985), her Master’s degree at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (2001 – 2007) and rounded off with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Toxicology at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (2009-2019).
Dr Lanre-Iyanda is an active member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (MCSN); Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (MSTAN); Women in Technical Education (MWITED); Nigerian Conservation Foundation (MNCF) and the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (MSETAC).
The new Deputy Rector is a Chief Lecturer who has about thirty (30) Articles in learned journals and published books to her credit.
Until her appointment, she is the immediate past Director of Academic Planning and has also held several positions on appointments and recommendations within and outside the Polytechnic.
She is happily married with blessed children.
