The long awaited terrestrial MAPOLY Radio will finally commence its full operation imminently following the delivery of donation of some operational equipment by an Alumnus, Otunba Gbolahan Macjob, to the Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.

MAPOLY Radio had been licensed by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) to operate on 99.7 frequency modulation since 2015.

He noted that the broadcast industry is being taking over by non-professionals, saying the establishment of the radio station would allow the students to be equipped with the best practical knowledge.

“We want to make sure that MAPOLY Students are the best in the broadcast industry because charlatans are taking over the industry. We have the best grooming in MAPOLY Mass Communication despite the little resources.

“MAPOLY has always been the best training ground for journalists in Nigeria and we must build on that momentum”.

“You cannot study broadcasting in this age, without having a practical knowledge, so the equipment became necessary to expose the students to new trend in broadcast industry.”

“We are indeed thankful for the services rendered. You have practically saved us from the challenges of putting up a radio station to train our students.”

“It is not possible for government to provide everything for the yearnings and aspiration of the students. I hereby call on individuals and corporate bodies to contribute in the part of teaching process of learning.

Dr. Odedeji concluded that, “MAPOLY has become better, stronger and more reliable. We have better lecturers critical to Mass Communication practice in Nigeria.”
