Adetokunbo Akinyosoye had her first degree in English, she obtained a Master’s degree in Educational Management from the University of Ibadan. She bagged another Master’s degree in English Language from Olabisi Onabanjo Univeristy, Ago Iwoye and later a PhD from Babcock University, Ilisan Remo. She is also a graduate of LIFE Seminary where was awarded Bachelor’s in Theology.

She started her career as a classroom teacher with the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission in 1992 after her Youth service. Her love for the teaching profession encouraged her to join the services of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in 1996 as a Lecturer II in the Department of Liberal Studies where she teaches English Language and Literature till date. She was promoted to the position of Lecturer I in 2001, Senior Lecturer in 2008, Principal Lecturer in 2013 and she became a Chief Lecturer in 2018.

She has served in many departmental, school and polytechnic committees. Some of these include; Chairman; Investigation panel on the takeover of some General Studies courses by other departments, Chairman;Social Committee of the General Studies Department, Member; The Editorial Board of The Liberal Forum Journal, Member; Teaching Supervision Committee, Member; Academic Board Committee on the review of staff activities, Member; AD-HOC Committee on Mode of Operation of MAPOLY Petrol station, Chairman; ASUP Election Committee, Member; Women in Technical Education Conference Committee, Member; Committee on the Review of Placement of one of the Lecturers in SCIT, Member; Committee on Collaboration with Universities. She became the Head of the English unit of the General Studies department in 2012 and also became a member of the Academic board in 2013.

She has 24 publications to her credit, some of which are in high impact journals internationally. She has presented papers in over 20 conferences locally and internationally. Tokunbo Akinyosoye has written four textbooks and has chapter contributions in other textbooks and in books of reading on English Language. Her area of research interest is Pragmatics with specific focus in discourse analysis.

She is a Chief Lecturer in the General Studies Department of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, where she was the head of the department between 2016 and 2020. She is currently the Director; Directorate of Linkages and Continuing Education at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.

She is a member of Women in Technical Education (NESA), English Scholars Association (ESAN), Literary Society of Nigeria (LSN), Association for Research and Development in Language, Arts, Social Science and Education (ARD LASSE) and Pragmatic Association of Nigeria.

 She is a Pastor at the Upper Room Temple of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Abeokuta. She has ministered in churches locally and internationally. She has won many awards from the Polytechnic, Social clubs, churches and the society. Her hobbies include travelling, singing, dancing, cooking and window shopping.
